Equity
We are committed to dismantling racism, sexism, ableism, and homophobia; supporting people, communities, and organizations who undermine discriminatory systems, policies, and practices; and supporting the brilliance and success of Black, Indigenous, Latinx, and People of Color, feminist, disability rights, and LGBTQIA+ people and organizations.
We are intersectional feminists who seek to undermine racism in every aspect of our work. We believe that people with disabilities should have full and equal access to every part of our society, and strive to support, partner with, and advocate for LGBTQIA+ people and organizations.
We acknowledge that, as articulated by Kimberlé Crenshaw’s theory of intersectionality, people have multiple identities that impact the barriers they face and how others perceive and treat them. We integrate intersectionality in the way we approach and interact with clients, in our legal analysis, and our strategy.

Environmentalism
We delight in the magic of the natural world and see ourselves as stewards of the environment. We take responsibility for honoring the environment and strive to leave the earth better than we found it. We are passionate about protecting the ocean, the air, open spaces, wild lands, and wildlife, and we ardently believe that all people deserve healthy places to live, work, play, and learn.
Excellence
Because we strive to create something better than what exists, we expect excellence from ourselves and one another. We take pride in our work, are committed to getting the job done right, and are willing to put in the time, effort, and care to do so. We are intelligent, efficient, and driven. We constantly learn and grow. We are creative, innovative, and resourceful. We pride ourselves on our integrity. We recognize that all work in service of our mission is valuable, no matter how big or small.

We want healthy, full lives for ourselves, our colleagues, and our clients. We prioritize rest. We do not sacrifice our health, our relationships, or our joy for a particular outcome, accolade, or win. We strive to help our clients identify solutions that are most in service of their healing.
Compassion & Respect
We recognize the humanity in ourselves, our clients, and members of our community. We honor, in particular, the humanity of people who have been historically excluded or dismissed.

We are principled and embody our values in every aspect of our work. We are also pragmatic. We provide solutions that take into account both the world as we want it to be and the world as it currently exists. We are realistic about how legal action can impact people. We make careful, grounded choices that sustain our business and permit us to continue our mission-driven work.
Joy
We seek joy in our work and our professional relationships. We value joy outside of work. Whether it’s laughing with a client, working on a social justice issue that we’re fired up about, or writing a brief in our favorite sunny spot outside, we celebrate and prioritize feeling joyful and alive!
