· You’re an organizational whiz that thrives when you have a variety of tasks. You’re detail-oriented and enjoy tracking and executing small tasks, as well as taking ownership of larger projects. You love keeping things and people organized and rock time-sensitive tasks!
· Proofreading is your superpower! You pay attention to the small details and get satisfaction out of making sure that things are grammatically correct, formatted correctly, and generally look professional.
· You love learning about and problem-solving tech systems, and are quick to learn and master software! You get a kick out of using tech to create efficient, streamlined systems. You love compiling data to support big-picture decision-making.

Details of the Role
In this role, you’ll provide administrative support to the team, be our go-to tech person, and manage and update our standard operating procedures. You’ll:
Manage Data & Files
Be the master of CDL files!
Promptly organize and name documents that come into our inbox.
Scan and file physical documents.
Manage CDL’s Calendars
Make sure that any deadline, call, meeting, or court appearance is promptly and correctly entered into CDL’s calendars.
Be CDL’s Admin Go-To
Proofread marketing and other materials, as needed.
Order office supplies.
Handle general administrative items.
Manage, Improve, & Troubleshoot Tech/Software/Hardware
Be the expert on CDL’s technology, practice management, Word, Adobe Acrobat, and client intake systems.
Be the resident tech troubleshooter! When something goes wrong, you’ll fix it. Troubleshoot issues, including researching solutions and working with tech support to efficiently resolve problems.
Identify and implement ways to use our practice management system, Clio, to be more efficient. Independently update Clio templates, including proofreading, formatting, testing, and finalizing.
Manage and run monthly and quarterly practice management reports.
Proactively identify issues with technology and suggest updates and practical solutions.
Document (& Build & Improve) CDL Processes & Procedures
Regularly update our standard operating procedures. Chat with the CDL team to understand what needs to be updated, break procedures into small steps, and document our processes.
When something doesn’t work, you’ll articulate why and present solutions.
Work with our team to problem-solve in a manner that honors our core values.
Track Tasks & Clearly Communicate
Track tasks and task completion.
Frequently communicate status updates and pertinent information regarding tasks.
Ask questions if needed!
You may also help with other duties that arise. This role has a high growth potential, depending on interest, fit, and evidence of achievement.
Location
Hybrid
We meet twice a week at our office in downtown Santa Barbara.
Schedule
Monday – Friday, approximately 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. PST.
Approximately 8-15 hours per week, with room to grow.
Compensation
$23 - $26 per hour
10 holidays (paid when they fall on workdays)
1 week paid sick leave
2 weeks paid vacation
Stipend for phone, internet, and home office expenses.
Potential for performance-based bonuses, including additional paid and unpaid time off.

Contract Attorney
Cossart-Daly Law, A.P.C. is continually seeking contract attorneys for environmental, anti-discrimination, and civil rights work. Hours are intermittent and vary significantly based on projects. We are looking for contract lawyers who:
Have more than three years of experience in environmental, anti-discrimination, and/or civil rights law.
Are licensed to practice law in California.
Have strong legal writing and research skills.
Are flexible, innovative, and think outside the box.
Are committed to, passionate about, and have experience with social, racial, gender, and environmental justice work.
Are willing to learn and able to engage in conversations that involve constructive feedback.
Are practiced in engaging in direct, honest, kind, and respectful conversations with supervisors.
Independently execute large filings, motions, and research projects.
